Flamingo Pet Products has won the bronze medal in the Logistics Building of the Year category at the Logistics & Transport Awards 2024. The Belgian company received this award thanks to its innovative distribution centre in Olen, which stands out on account of its advanced technologies and sustainable construction methods.
Located on a 55 600 m² site and offering 33 500 m² of warehouse space, the building was designed to make Flamingo’s logistics processes more efficient. The new setup has boosted warehouse performance by about 40 per cent, according to Flamingo.
Moreover, the company stresses the building's sustainability achievements, such as the 5 500 solar panels that generate enough green energy to power the equivalent of more than 1 100 households. For Flamingo, this project is not only an important contribution to a greener world but has also led to a reduction in operating costs.
